Specifications
Doors shall be 747 type as manufactured by CURRIES of Mason City, Iowa. Doors are to be manufactured of the finest quality 18, 16, or 14 gauge (specify) cold-rolled stretcher level flatness steel. All doors shall be full flush construction and shall have continuous one piece 20 gauge vertical steel stiffeners spaced not to exceed 6" (152) apart. The lock rail is to be one piece, full height 14 gauge channel. The hinge rail is to be one piece, full height 12 gauge channel formed and tapped for hinges. Door edges (hinge and lock) may have an exposed hairline seam (747S) or shall be welded, filled and ground smooth the full height of the door (747N), or continuous wire welded seam full height, filled and ground smooth (747T). All spaces between stiffeners shall be insulated with fiberglass insulation.
Both top and bottom of doors are to receive 16 gauge closure channels. Doors shall have a beveled [1/8" (3) in 2" (51)] on the lock edge. Minimum hardware reinforcments shall be as follows: closers-12 gauge [5" (127) x 18" (457)], butts and locks as previously specified herein, checks and pivots-7 gauge conforming to template requirements. Special features available include bi-folding doors, bull-nosed edge, 16 gauge steel stiffeners, 2-1/4" (57) thick doors, and oversize doors larger than 5 feet (1524) wide and 10 feet (3048) high.
Note: CURRIES type 747S 16 gauge 4070 (1219x2133) door exceeds ANSI A250.4 Level A door performance criteria.
