Specifications
Doors shall be 737 type Bullet Resistant design, per UL Test 752, Level 2, HPSA (.357 magnum), as manufactured by CURRIES of Mason City, Iowa. Doors are to be manufactured of the finest quality 16 and 14 gauge cold-rolled stretcher leveled flatness steel, or galvannealed steel. All doors shall be full flush construction and 1-7/8" (48) thick.
Doors shall be reinforced, stiffened, insulated and sound deadened with an internal core consisting of a solid slab of expanded polystyrene foam permanently bonded with adhesive to the inside face of each sheet. Integral armor plating inside of the door shall provide bullet resistive properties in accordance to UL HPSA listing. The door lock edge reinforcing shall be one piece, full height 14 gauge channel. The door hinge edge reinforcing shall be one piece, full height 14 gauge channel, formed and tapped for hinges. Door edges (hinge and lock) may have exposed hairline seams (737S) or shall be welded, filled, and ground smooth the full height of the door (737N), or may have a continuous wire welded seam full height, filled and ground smooth (737T).
The top and bottom of the doors shall have a continuous closed channel welded to each face of 16 gauge steel. Doors shall be beveled [1/8" (3) in 2" (51)] on the lock edge and square on the hinge edge. All doors shall be bonderized and finished as standard with one coat of baked-on prime coat paint. Minimum hardware reinforcment shall be as follows: closers-12 gauge [5" (127) x 16" (406)], overhead holders-12 gauge (5" (127) x 24" (610)]. Hinges and locks are as previously specified herein. CURRIES UL Bullet Resistant 12 gauge frames must be used with CURRIES UL Bullet Resistant Doors.
