Specifications
Doors shall be 707 type as manufactured by CURRIES of Mason City, Iowa. Doors are to be manufactured of the finest quality 20, 18, 16, or 14 gauge (specify) cold rolled stretcher level flatness steel. All doors shall be full flush construction and 1-3/4" (44) or 1-3/8" (35) thick.
Doors shall be reinforced, stiffened, insulated and sound deadened with a solid slab of expanded polystyrene foam permanently bonded to the inside of each face skin. Both lock edge and hinge rail edge of the door shall be welded, filled and ground smooth the full height of the door (707N) or both lock and hinge rail of the door may have an exposed hairline seam (707S). The lock rail shall be one piece, full height 14 gauge pressed channel, with elongated templating. The hinge rail shall be one piece full height 14 gauge pressed channel, formed and tapped for hinges.
Top and bottom of the door shall have 16 gauge steel closure channels. Doors shall have a beveled [1/8" (3) in 2" (51)] lock edge. All doors shall be bonderized and finished as standard with one coat of baked-on prime coat paint. Minimum hardware reinforcement shall consist of the following: Closers-12 gauge channels [5" (127) x 16" (406)], overhead holders- 12 gauge channel (5" (127) x 24" (610)], rim panics-14 gauge channel [5" (127) x 18" (457)], butts and locks are previously specified herein, checks and pivots-7 gauge conforming to template requirements.
